Sierra Hidalga, la más desconocida de las que conforman el Parque Natural Sierra de las Nieves, se ubica al noroeste del espacio protegido, en pleno término municipal de Ronda. El nombre de esta montaña alude a su aspecto altivo y majestuoso según se observa desde los Llanos de Aguaya, en la vertiente que mira a la Ciudad de Tajo. El punto más elevado se conoce como Peineta de la Hidalga, alcanzando los 1505 m. Sus otras dos elevaciones dignas de reseñar son el Carramolo del Queso (1321 m) y Riscos del Lirio (1146 m). Por reseñas de viejos escritos sabemos que igualmente fue nombrada como Sierra Aidarga y Sierra Gialda, sin duda, deformaciones del topónimo original
